We love designing patches for Emergency Medical Services all over the country! Because of these brave people who sacrifice for us, we are able to live without fear. So, in honor of them, we’re showcasing some really cool looking EMS patches we’ve designed for them over the years! 

1. Fire Army EMS Patches

We love this patch because of the bright colors and simplicity of the design. When designing embroidered patches, less is always more! This image gets many ideas across with few words and a straightforward design.

2. Garden City Ambulance Service

Count the symbols! This patch stands out because of its interesting shape and the sheer amount of symbols they managed to tastefully cram into one patch. We have the American Flag, the ladder, fireman’s hat and ax. On poorly done EMS patches, these would all seem cluttered and tacky, but because of the use of color, it all blends perfectly.

3. Squirrel City Police/Fire Dept.

Shoutout to Squirrel City! If your city has a mascot like this, it is always best to capitalize on it. This is one of those instantly recognizable designs. You know that when people see the squirrel, they know the law is coming.

4. Mesa Ranger District

This one evokes such awesome imagery. You know that this department is probably in a hot climate and Tonto National Forest is a desert in Arizona! If you can get away with including a cactus in your design, always go for it. The colors work so well in this patch, it pops right out and is easy to read.

5. United States Investigative Services Bureau

A Cobra and a German Shepherd walk into a bar…then the T.A.C.T unit shows up and shuts that right down! This patch means business. From the minimal use of color to the simplistic design, these EMS patches scream “Don’t eff with me!” and we love it!

6. AVA Fire and Rescue

Great use of color, and symbols. It even includes the year that the department was founded which is pretty cool. And while some departments emphasize the fireman hat, this one goes for the ax, instead. Overall really effective patch.

7. Honolulu Police Dept.

This one is just as cool as Hawaii! Deep blue and black and we’re loving that gradient. Talk about simple elegance, this patch has all that and more.

8. Stinnett Police Dept.

Look at this badass design from the city of Stinnett in Texas. This is an interesting take on the skull and crossbones, with a Longhorn skull and tomahawks. Using the Texas Flag in conjunction with the American Flag gets the message across that this police department takes no crap.

9. Utah Dept. Of Corrections

This design is riffing off of the classic Punisher logo. The simplicity and restrained use of color make this one a real tough-looking patch. We also like that it is the smallest of the bunch, meaning you can place many of them on one garment, for a serious doubling down effect.

10. Lake Shastina Public Safety

This patch is very futuristic looking. This design combines the 3 branches of the Public Safety Department – Fire, Police, and Rescue into a sleek plane, symbolizing the symbiotic relationship between the three. This patch also makes great use of color by using compatible primary colors.
